TIGER
Tigers are the largest of all wild cats, with some males reaching over 300kg - that's as heavy as a motorcycle! Each tiger's stripe pattern is unique, like a human fingerprint, and these stripes help camouflage them in tall grass.
Unlike lions, tigers are solitary animals and prefer to hunt alone. They're powerful swimmers and actually enjoy being in water, often spending hot days cooling off in rivers and lakes. A tiger can eat up to 40kg of meat in one sitting!
Sadly, tigers are endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. Only about 3,900 tigers remain in the wild. Their roar can be heard up to 3 kilometers away and is used to mark territory and find mates.
📍 WHERE WILL YOU FIND THEM
Visit our majestic tigers at pen T4, near the Asian big cat exhibit. They're most active during our 11:00am enrichment session!
